The Emperor's New Clothes

Tired of wandering naked, I decide to make some basic clothes.
You can start foraging for Nettle after putting 3-5 points in Exploration.
It took some time, but I finally made myself a Nettle shirt and Nettle pair of pants.

I'm Hunting Wabbits

To hunt a Rabbit, you need to chase after them at your highest run speed. They can be tricky to catch, but a Dead Rabbit provides Fresh Rabbit Fur, Raw Rabbit (meat), Bone Material and Entrails.

More Cliff Climbing

Upon experimenting, it seems that you can climb fairly high cliffs. I wonder if there is a height limit to this superhuman ability?

Cliff Climbing

In the new Haven and Hearth, you can now climb up and jump down from some cliffs. This video demonstrates this for new players.

Cleaning up a Fireplace

Once you are finished with a fire, be sure to clean up. Putting out the fire allows you to save on fuel and firewood so you can reuse it in the future. Remember that resources are often limited in Haven and Hearth.

Roasting Meat

You can use a Roasting Spit to cook prepared animal meat, such as a Cleaned Chicken. In this video, I demonstrate how to carve two delicious pieces of Sizzling Spitroast Chicken.

Discovering Fire

Creating a fire has changed slightly in the new Haven and Hearth. You need to build a Fireplace using stones, a Fire using branches and use a Firebrand to light the fire. This video demonstrates the procedure.

Note: The Firebrand turns into Ashes very quickly, so you need to right click the unlit fire as soon as it ignites.

First Impressions

Like previous versions, you start out in the new Haven and Hearth as a formless wisp in the character creation area.
New players are guided by a short narrative as they follow the main path.
You can start out as either a male or female character.
The character portrait on the upper left reflects what you are currently wearing, which in this case, is absolutely nothing.
Talk to the wizard character at the end of the path to name your character.
You can also find this small garden with a mysterious rune stone. Like before, you can take some time to discover basic items before leaving the area.
To enter the actual game world, just walk through the campfire near the wizard. Another adventure begins!

Farming 101

Farming is a very useful skill in Haven and Hearth. This activity produces various food, crafting materials and utility items.
To improve results from farming activities, you will need to move your Personal Beliefs Nature/Industry slider completely towards Nature.
Currently, you can plant 14 different kinds of crops, the most important for beginners being: Carrots, Flax and Wheat.
You can also plant Trees of your own using the following: Treeplanter's Pot, Herbalist Table, Water, Soil and a seed of the tree you want to grow. Player-grown trees often have higher quality than wild trees.
You can tame wild animals to raise their domesticated forms. Cattle, Sheep and Pigs can be bred for higher quality beyond their wild cousins.

Hunting Lessons - Aurochs

This time, a herd of Aurochs appeared. Like Mouflon, they can't break through walls or fences.
They attack as a herd, so use ranged weapons to hunt them.
If you feel lucky, you can try the "Pull Hair" command for a chance of Aurochs Hair. Note that the herd may attack you if you do this.
You can feed them Four-Leaf Clovers to obtain wild Milk. Don't forget to bring a Bucket.
Note that these animals do not flee, even if severely wounded.
Prepare ample storage space beforehand, as Aurochs provide a lot of meat and materials.

Mining 101

To start Mining, you will need access to a Cave or Mine Hole. I was fortunate enough to locate this abandoned mine some time ago.
Using a Stone Axe or Pickaxe, you can mine the black tiles for Ore. This Ore can then be processed in an Ore Smelter to obtain various metals.
Remember that your Personal Beliefs should be set to Industry for a higher chance of finding valuable metals. In this old mine, I found Cast Iron, which can be further processed to create Wrought Iron.

Hunting Tricks - Bear

Today, I encountered a Bear lurking outside my home. We'll demonstrate a simple trick to hunt it with ease.
You can safely attack Bears with ranged weapons from behind Palisade walls. However, they normally start running away if you deal a certain amount of damage.
The trick is to equip a relatively weak ranged weapon (I used a ~q30 Sling for the video) so that they don't flee. It can take a while, but this method can net you a free Bear kill with little risk.
